Hello friends,
Howβs your weekend going?
Gung hay fat choy from a city glowing red from sunrise to sunset:
READING
βπ½ Writing with Power. I was reaching for another book on the stoop when the universe gifted me this one instead, in the form of an older gentleman who wordlessly but insistently shoved this book in my hands before disappearing, so here I am, powering through πͺπ½ (by Peter Elbow, 1981)
WATCHING
π Abbott Elementary. (A+) late to this party and starting from S1E1, but knew within seconds this was a standout successor to The Office. Gut? Busted! Brava, Quinta Brunson! Hulu+
πΌ Barbie (B-) also unfashionably late to the Barbie party (since childhood) and the payoff didnβt quite live up to all the media hype. Itβs revolutionary Greta Gerwig got to say all the quiet parts out loud in a Mattel-backed big Hollywood movie. But the aftertaste was still a little hollow, plastic, like a commercial for a toy doll. Amazon Prime
LISTENING
π§ Why being uncomfortable is important. Life Kit, NPR
πΒ Super Bowl LVIII Usher Megamix. Apple Music
π Tracy Chapmanβs 2024 Grammy performance. A rare moment we shared.
DOPE STUFF FOR YOUR DESK
From the Retro Future Nostalgia Department: To kickstart some personal writing projects this year, I wanted a keyboard with weight. To punch down keys. Take up space. With a visual punch. This one fit the bill. Viva Magenta the dopamine color pop on top. It syncs and switches effortlessly between my tablet and phone (up to 3 connected devices) with a built-in stand.

Lastly, an early Valentineβs poem:
What if you are the love of your life?
Keep spreading love,
